That there is a benefit to rolling coal if you AREN'T a massive douchebag.

Allow me to lay out a scenario. My folks have been letting me borrow various members of their stable while my MSP is in the shop, today they brought my dad's 02 Chevy Silverado and swapped it to me for their Jetta Sportwagen, and while driving said truck home, I had to slow way down behind a previous gen Impala on a two lane highway with enough traffic to make passing a pain. A previous gen Fusion proceeded to tailgate the hell out of me...and then the Impala moved onto the shoulder and let me pass. Pedal to the floor, speedo needle jumps from 60-80, and a MASSIVE black smoke cloud envelopes the Fusion. I notice this in the rearview mirror, and to my eternal shame, grinned like an idiot. Fusion then gave me about 100 yards of space for the rest of the way home.

Thats an acceptable reason.

An unnaceptable reason to do it is if I am cruising minding my own business in my slammed Corolla. Going 65 on high highway and pulling up next to me laughing at my car, pointing at it, calling me a loser for driving something I like then proceeding to blow black smoke into my open window is total douchebaggery.

They didn't expect that wrench through their window though....

My parents used to have a Volvo 740 with the Audi TD, that had the pump turned up. They did this to all tailgaters.
